How Copywriting Changed My Life?

There is no coincidence and I believe it firmly. It was in the year 2021 when I stepped into this world just by coincidence (if I call it so) and here I am today, a full-time copywriter, establishing a lifelong legacy through this subject only.

I started copywriting because I had nothing to do then. I was learning coding to crack IT jobs and truly, it was frustrating for me. I wasn’t able to concentrate and each day it used to trigger my migraine as I used to be stressed all the time.

One not-so-very-fine day, I saw a LinkedIn post of my friend looking for volunteer writers for his website. I approached him and wrote 3 articles for him. The results were phenomenal and I was happy that I did something. And then it happened.

A local digital marketer whom I knew for 1 year, approached me to write articles for his website. It was my big breakthrough.

Copywriting is not just my career. It has helped me see the world through a different eye, enabling me to see some of the harsh truth and loved side of the world.

The First-

Copywriting gave me financial stability that I never imagined possible through writing. Well, 3 years ago, I didn’t even know about the potential online writing holds. When I started writing, I didn’t know how much I would earn. But I know I will be satisfied with the work.

But copywriting gave me more than my expectations. I am now earning well to pay my bills and make savings as well. Though I am not going to share my earnings for obvious reasons. Ha Ha! But I can tell you that I am in a good stage currently.

The Second-

‘Do what you love and Love what you do.’

When I was studying engineering or learning coding from a famous organization (surely I would not take any name), I knew this was not for me. Even if I get a job and become a coder, I would be stuck in the crowd and will always be mediocre. I never wanted that.

Writing is my natural strength. I am humble enough to accept that it is something that God or Nature (whatever you believe) has poured into me. Though I am not a very great writer, I can write well. Apart from copywriting, I write poetries, stories, film screenplay, and much more. Soon I am going to publish my book and I hope you would like it.

I am not criticizing any career path and especially have huge respect for engineers. They are transforming this world with their inventions. My whole point is that I was not a good choice for the engineering field.

Copywriting is something I really love to do. It helps me to push my limits and sometimes makes me work for more than 12 hours a day. And still, I feel energetic.

The Third-

Your Network is Your Net Worth.

You don’t need thousands of people in your contact. But I want you to understand the importance of being a warm and friendly person to everyone. Be it my college or internship or my job, I always network. This is something I love not for the sake of growing my business or searching for potential clients. No. That is completely a selfish perspective toward people.

Copywriting introduced professional people to me. I started connecting with people who have been actively working for 9-10 years in this field. They gave me a boost in my understanding of Digital Marketing. Plus I started connecting with everyone who could teach me anything. I asked their opinion about my ideas, skill levels, and what I should do next.

They became my mentors. Some of them later became my clients too. (Blessings on board)

The Fourth-

The best business skill is to ‘Care’

Copywriting didn’t only give me a means of earning to me. It opened a box of life lessons too. Let me be clear, I don’t like rude people. Though I am not an easily triggered person, I don’t like people misbehaving with me.

But after stepping into my profession, I saw a huge change in me. I started understanding the importance of being emotionally controlled, being humble, and being active all the time.

To become great in your professional life, you must let go of your ego and become humble to tolerate criticism, work under pressure, over-deliver, and maintain healthy relationships. Copywriting evolved me as a person. It taught me to be committed to my goals and be responsible to people.

Clients have come to me even after 6 months of no contact only because they had felt some weight in my behavior, words, and work. Moreover, sometimes I give a few of my services completely free to my clients. Lost opportunities? Naah! I do these genuinely from my heart.

The Fifth-

Good writing improves the thoughts of the mind.

I accept this without any shame. When I started copywriting, I was not a prominent English speaker. I still don’t consider myself a great expert on language but indeed copywriting has given me a strong grip over it.

In the 1.5 years of my copywriting journey, I have seen my language and my writing style grow from zero to a satisfactory level. This boosts my confidence while connecting with people from all places.

Moreover, I learned about marketing through writing. The subject, the graphics, hooks, explanation, and style of conveying the subject- I learned all of these that helped me to become a good copywriter.

The Sixth-

The world has no limitations for discovery.

When I entered the Digital Marketing field, lesser did I know that it would give me such great opportunities. I started as a copywriter and under the guidance of my first employer, I learned SEO as well. After a few months, I learned social media marketing and am currently in progress in that.

And I have a long list of skills that I want to master. All this happened only because of copywriting. The more I study, the more I feel there’s a lot left. The world has no limitations for discoveries.

Conclusion:

Being a copywriter is fun for me. I love it and I am establishing it as the cornerstone of my career. Choosing a career path as a writer was not easy. I was criticized by my relatives and some still say. I don’t worry anymore about that. Copywriting is cool and I love it. But I also know that there’s a lot more than just that. And I am ready for the never-ending exploration of life.
